Gérard PODEUR, originally from Nantes, discovered a passion for nature and travel at a young age.

He began his professional career before embarking on the daring adventure of restoring a sailboat to cross the Atlantic.

 

During one of his trips in the 1980s, he went to Brazil and developed an interest in stones.

 

This is how the story of AS PEDRAS begins.

 

To finance this passion, Gérard worked as a fisherman while developing a mine. Thanks to his determination, the mine he operated proved to be a dream come true for many.

After a long period of hard work, and to his great joy, he discovered three blocks of Aquamarine weighing around 400 kilos each.

 

Following this discovery, the company was born, and the first jewelry collections began to be distributed in France.

 

Gérard also took his children to the mine site to share this incredible adventure, which began a family passion.

 

Jean-Philippe, Gérard's son, was captivated from a young age by the natural treasures his father introduced him to. With his grandmother Suzanne, he participated in the Saint-Malo market, where they sold carved stones in the shape of animals. He also accompanied his father on trips to deepen their shared passion.

 

After completing his studies, he decided to embark on this adventure and devote his life to the discovery of minerals. Today, Gérard and Jean-Philippe PODEUR are partners in the company AS PEDRAS.

In 2025, Gérard and Jean-Philippe, attached to their roots, made a new dream come true by establishing their shop in the heart of the city, in the former crêperie "Gaby", a place precious to Gérard's childhood who went there regularly with his family.
